Eiffel Investment is financing a new biomethane production facility in Ireland that is being developed by Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises.

Eiffel Investment said it has arranged and provided the financing package to support the construction of the project in County Kildare.

The financing amount for the project, as well as the total project cost, was undisclosed.

The project, expected to begin commissioning mid-2026, will produce approximately 120GWh of renewable biomethane annually for direct injection into the national gas grid, operated by Gas Networks Ireland.

Katarzyna Kubizna, director at Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises, said: ”This is an important step in delivering the project which will be the largest biomethane project in Ireland at the time of completion.

“We are delighted to be at the forefront of this developing industry and are excited to continue to work with the Eiffel team in bringing the project through to completion.”

Alexis Sarton, investment director at Eiffel Investment, said: “This project combines technical excellence, environmental, sovereignty and economic value, and strong engagement with local stakeholders, an infrastructure model we promote across Europe.”

Pierre-Antoine Machelon, head of infrastructure at Eiffel Investment, said: “We are delighted to finance the construction of a flagship biomethane plant in Ireland, a project that perfectly aligns with Eiffel Investment Group’s commitment to accelerate energy transition across Europe.”

Eiffel Investment has financed over 100 anaerobic digestion plants and invested more than €350m in European renewable gas and circular economy infrastructure since 2020.
