Amvest has received a €250m capital commitment for its living and care property fund from Gasunie, Woningcorporaties and a third unnamed Dutch pension fund.

The real estate investor owned by healthcare sector scheme PFZW and asset manager ASR, has said the capital raised for the Living & Care Fund, enables the fund to grow its healthcare real estate portfolio and develop new projects for individuals requiring care.

Woningcorporaties, the pension scheme for social housing corporations, contributed €150m to the Amvest fund’s capital, with the two additional pension funds each providing €50m.

Heleen Aarts, CEO of Amvest, said: “We are grateful for the trust of these three pension funds. Their investment enables us to accelerate the realisation of care projects in the Netherlands that meet a social need.

“We believe in forms of housing that contribute to older people living independently, more vital and happier for longer.”

Since 2013, the Amvest fund has been investing in healthcare real estate for Dutch pension funds and insurers, with a focus on sustainable senior housing. The latest investments will bring its total invested capital to €1bn.
