Aurora Towers was established as an independent Canadian tower platform following CVC DIF’s acquisition of SBA Communications’ Canadian wireless tower business in late 2025.

CVC DIF said the new acquisition would see Aurora’s portfolio increase from over 400 to more than 650 sites across Canada, “further strengthening its position as one of the country’s largest independent wireless tower platforms”.

Since CVC DIF’s initial investment, Aurora has made significant progress in establishing itself as a standalone organisation strengthening its commercial capabilities through a strong and dedicated management team and further developing its relationships with Canadian wireless operators, the infrastructure manager added.

Tom Goossens, partner and co-head of the DIF Infrastructure Funds at CVC DIF, said: “This acquisition is a natural next step in the development of Aurora Towers. The portfolio is highly complementary to Aurora’s existing sites and significantly increases the scale of the platform, while further strengthening its relationships with Canada’s leading wireless operators.

“We believe the combination creates a stronger independent tower business with the capabilities and scale to support customers as they continue to invest in their networks across Canada.”

Kanan Joshi, partner and co-head of North America and head of digital infrastructure at CVC DIF, said: “Aurora Towers has built real momentum since becoming an independent platform, and we’re pleased to see that progress continue with this acquisition. The combination of these two portfolios gives Aurora a stronger foundation to support its customers and supports our broader thesis around building resilient digital infrastructure platforms across North America.”

Lawrence Gleason, CEO of Aurora Towers, added: “Aurora has made strong progress since becoming an independent platform, and this acquisition represents an important next step in its growth. Bringing together two highly complementary portfolios will broaden Aurora’s presence across Canada and strengthen its ability to support the country’s leading wireless operators with their network infrastructure needs.”
