Potentia Energy, an Australian renewable energy firm owned by Enel Green Power and INPEX, is acquiring a portfolio of over 1GW of renewable-energy assets from CVC DIF and Cbus Super.

Potentia Energy is investing an unspecified amount to acquire the portfolio which includes 700MW of operational wind and solar assets across multiple Australian states and territories, plus over 430MW of late-stage development projects, including battery storage systems in South Australia and Queensland, and a recently financed wind project in Western Australia.

Potentia Energy CEO, Werther Esposito, said: “We are incredibly pleased to announce our acquisition of a portfolio diversified across geographies, technologies and energy markets, including both operational and development stage projects.

“The acquisition expands and complements our existing portfolio of solar and wind assets across the wholesale energy market and national electricity market.”

Andrew Freeman, partner and head of divestments at CVC DIF, said: “At CVC DIF, we are focused on uncovering opportunities that enhance financial performance and drive sustainable growth in the businesses we invest in, while at the same time delivering strong returns for our investors and supporting the energy transition.”

CVC DIF said the sale is being done via its DIF Infrastructure IV and DIF Infrastructure V funds.
