Cubico Sustainable Investments has added 15 solar PV plants to its portfolio with the acquisition of assets from Partners Group.

The renewable energy investor said it bought the 26.4MW plants from funds managed and/or advised by Partners Group for an undisclosed sum.

The PV plants, located in Veneto and Lazio, became operational in 2011. They range from 1 to 5MW and the majority have project finance in place.

As a result of the acquisition, Cubico’s portfolio in Italy now comprises 37 assets, with a total capacity of 233MW, allocated between solar PV and wind technologies.

David Swindin, head of EMEA at Cubico said: “We have a long history in Italy and this acquisition consolidates Cubico’s position as one of the largest owners of PV in the country which sits alongside our Italian wind portfolio.

“We are delighted to have worked with Partners Group on the acquisition and look forward to further expanding our position in the country.”
