A European fund managed by Cube Infrastructure has teamed up with Dillinger Group to invest in German and Italian solar assets over five years.

The mid-market infrastructure fund manager’s Cube Infrastructure Fund III and the Germany-based renewable energy plant developer and operator have established the CubIKS platform which aims to deploy 1GW of solar photovoltaic capacity.

CubIKS will focus on the development of ground-mounted installations, rooftop-mounted systems on commercial and industrial properties and carports. The platform will also explore the potential integration of battery-energy storage solutions.

Saket Trivedi, partner and head of energy transition at Cube Infrastructure Managers, said: “We are delighted to establish this long-term partnership with an established player such as The Dillinger Group in order to accelerate the energy transition in Germany and Italy, two of the largest European energy markets with strong governmental policy and regulatory support in enabling the switch to a zero-carbon economy.”

Simon Dillinger, founder and CEO of The Dillinger Group, said: “We are pleased to join forces with an experienced institutional investor like Cube to scale up our solar PV-focused renewable-energy platform and contribute to the decarbonisation of the energy mix in Germany and Italy in the coming years.”
