Commerz Real has raised €200m from institutional investors to invest in a wind farm in the North Sea.
The manager said the Institutional Infrastructure Offshore Fund is investing in the Veja Mate offshore wind park, the second-largest German offshore wind farm.
As previously reported, Commerz Real and Ingka as the largest stakeholders in a consortium, acquired a majority stake in the Veja Mate wind farm in a €2.3bn deal.
In addition to the Institutional Infrastructure Offshore Fund, the Institutional Renewable Energy Fund II and the Institutional Multi Asset Fund II of Commerz Real have also invested in the farm.
Johannes Anschott, the CEO of Commerz Real, said: “With products such as the Institutional Infrastructure Offshore Fund our institutional investors are making an active contribution with an optimum yield/risk ratio, which is why we intend to further expand the renewable energy division in the future.”
Anschott said the products are already in the planning stage.
