California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) has committed $500m (€452.9m) to Macquarie Asset Management’s latest infrastructure fund, which primarily targets North American core-plus and value-add mid-market assets.
CalPERS disclosed in a meeting document that it has placed the capital into the Macquarie Infrastructure Partners VI fund. The pension fund declined a request for further comment.
According to an SEC filing, Macquarie’s Partners VI fund had received total commitments of $6.2bn as of the end of August 2024, including the commitment from CalPERS. Macquarie is seeking to raise between $7bn and $8bn for Partners VI.
