Brookfield has acquired a portfolio of 33 light industrial assets in Sweden from EQT Real Estate.

IPE Real Assets understands that Brookfield, through its real estate solutions strategy, is investing an unspecified sum to acquire the 144,000sqm portfolio in Eastern Sweden.

The portfolio includes warehouses, light-industrial properties and other last-mile assets.

Brookfield will enter into a joint venture to become the majority owner of the assets with local operating partner Broadgate, which has managed the portfolio for several years and will re-invest as part of the transaction.

EQT said it also sold a property to ICA Fastigheter.

Olivier Astruc, managing director at EQT Real Estate, said: “The performance of these Swedish logistics real estate assets has been underpinned by continued growth in strategically targeted cities located in proximity to logistics and industrial sub-markets.

“Over the years, we have aggregated a high-quality portfolio, enhanced its performance by prioritizing occupiers’ needs, and we are pleased to have found the right owner to continue its growth.”
