Brightshore Capital, formerly GTIS Partners, has launched a US real estate debt platform anchored by a $250m (€216m) seed investment.
The launch of Brightshore Credit – which will focus on high-yield credit, stretch senior and mezzanine debt, preferred equity and B-notes – comes as the $5.6bn real estate investment manager rebrands following its transition to 100% partner ownership.
Tom Shapiro, president and founder of Brightshore Capital, said: “The Brightshore name reflects who we are today: a partner-owned investment firm with over twenty years of experience and a long-term commitment to our investors.
“With the firm now fully owned by the partners who have built and led the business, this is the right moment to establish an identity that is entirely our own and reflects where we are taking the business next.”
