Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors, which invests internationally on behalf of Dutch pension fund BpfBouw, has committed €100m to a strategy that targets various sectors in the Nordics.

Bouwinvest is backing the NREP strategy which targets assets like affordable rental housing, care homes and logistics. The fund’s manager NREP is known for predominantly targetting projects in urban centres in the region, such as Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo and Gothenburg.

Robert Koot, director European investments at Bouwinvest, said the plan is to grow assets under management in Europe for bpfBOUW to €1.8bn by the end of 2023 and “will focus our efforts on creating value in both financial and social terms – what we at Bouwinvest call real value for life”.

Jasper Petit, senior portfolio manager at Bouwinvest, said: “NREP is an excellent partner for us in this region and the strong underlying market fundamentals of the sectors we are targeting will help us realise our goal of generating a solid and attractive dividend for our client.”

Didde Kristensen, head of investor relations at NREP, said: “We are very pleased and honoured to welcome Bouwinvest as an investor in NREP income plus. It is a pleasure to work with an investor who also has high standards, a strong focus on their sustainability agenda as well as a long-term alignment with our own company in terms of their goal to improve the built environment to the benefit of customers, communities and cities.”
