London-based real estate investment firm Fabrix has appointed Nicholas Schiloff from Blackstone as chief investment officer and partner to lead the firm’s investment and asset management activities.
Fabrix, which owns a real estate portfolio in London and Berlin, said Schiloff will help oversee investment and asset management activities, as well as raising and structuring equity and debt for the firm’s ongoing business initiatives.
Schiloff was a principal at Blackstone and had worked with the company for the last seven years. His experience included more than €12bn of private and public markets acquisitions in the UK and Europe across a variety of property types including logistics, residential, offices, life sciences and film studios. His previous experience includes working at Mount Kellett and Hines.
Clive Nichol, CEO of Fabrix, said: “At Fabrix, we have always been dedicated to innovation. Key to our approach is creating future-proof products that exceed current environmental and social benchmarks to meet occupiers’ science-based targets for net zero.
”Nicholas’s appointment as chief investment officer will help expand our institutional investment partner base and strengthen the Fabrix proposition as a leading owner-operator.”
Schiloff said: “Fabrix is a true leader in ESG and innovation, and I look forward to working alongside Clive and the team as we accelerate our top-down thematic investment approach. I believe the team is uniquely positioned within the market as a vertically integrated platform with our bottom-up expertise and deep sector knowledge and in-house capabilities in origination, underwriting, due diligence, structuring, design, development, construction, impact and sustainability, leasing and asset management.
”All of this is underpinned by a commitment to capturing and analysing data to identify trends and invest at scale into high conviction strategies.”
