CBRE Investment Management has hired Mariana Barrientos as director to join its European private infrastructure markets team.

The global real assets investment management firm said Barrientos will focus on sourcing, executing and asset managing investments as part of the private infrastructure investment team in London.

“She will take a lead role in global investments, managing relationships with infrastructure partners and client service.”

Barrientos was most recently at Citibank, where she had served had vice president in its power, utilities and renewables investment banking division since 2019. She joined Citibank in 2013 before being promoted to associate in 2015.

Andreas Köttering, the head of private infrastructure Europe, CBRE Investment Management, said: “Mariana brings an impressive track record to our growing team, and we very much look forward to working with her and benefitting from her experience as we build on our position as a leading provider of sustainable real assets solutions.”

Köttering joins the firm’s London team which completed three investments in the past three months, including acquiring two Nordic bus operators, as well as co-investing in a utilities connections business in the UK.
