AviaRent Invest has invested an undisclosed sum on behalf of its European Social Infrastructure I fund to buy a senior care facility in Germany.

The manager has bought the Johanneshaus Nierstein residential and nursing care facility with 169 rooms located in Nierstein, Rhineland-Palatinate.

AviaRent said a long-term lease agreement has been signed with the current operator.

Anahita Afzalkhani, a senior transaction manager at AviaRent Invest, said: “With this investment, we’re underpinning our commitment to provide high-quality, sustainable care properties.”

Due to demographic changes, demand for suitable care places continues to increase, she said.

The aim of the special fund, which also invests in the areas of healthcare, education and affordable housing, is to counteract this shortage, Afzalkhani said.
