Iseek Communications, majority-owned by Amber Infrastructure, has acquired YourDC, South Australian data centre company.
The sale price was not disclosed, but local media reported that the deal valued the business at A$50-A$100m (€33m to €66m).
YourDC operates South Australia’s largest ecosystem of carriers, cloud, and managed services, with two data centres strategically located on either side of Adelaide.
The acquisition completes Iseek’s national footprint, giving it access to the South Australian market. It also broadens the firm’s co-location, cloud and connectivity offering to seven data centres across Brisbane, Northern Queensland, Sydney and Adelaide.
Iseek founder and CEO, Jason Gomersall, said: “Our acquisition of YourDC is game-changing for our growth trajectory. It provides a large footprint in South Australia, strengthens our national offering, and increases our exposure within the defence and education sectors.”
YourDC founder and CEO, Scott Hicks, said the capital from iseek would facilitate the company’s next growth phase. “We will expand our data centre capacity to capitalise on significant market demand and growth opportunities,” he said.
Hicks and his team will continue to operate and remain invested in the business.
