UK-focused rooftop-solar firm Atrato Onsite Energy is investing over £31m (€36.6m) in two separate transactions.

The London-listed renewables investment trust said it acquired Sonne Solar, a company that owns an operational portfolio and a development pipeline of behind-the-meter (BTM) solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The operational portfolio consists of 33MW of installed capacity across 32 rooftop and ground mount BTM assets in the UK. The development portfolio consists of a further 33 pipeline sites that are part of a framework agreement with a single business.

Sonne Solar was acquired from Green Investment Group’s Cero Generation.

Atrato said it has also reached financial close on a 1MWp new rooftop solar project, benefitting from a 25-year power purchase agreement with a subsidiary of Recipharm.

Gurpreet Gujral, managing director of Atrato Partners, the investment adviser to the company, said: “We’re delighted to announce these transactions. The Sonne operational assets are an immediate source of income for Atrato, whilst the development portfolio provides attractive further pipeline.”

Gujral said the Recipharm transaction represents Atrato’s first project in the pharmaceutical sector.

“We are delighted to be able to provide Recipharm with a new rooftop PV system that will generate long-term, low-cost and fully traceable green energy.”
