Global industrial company Atlas Copco has agreed to buy speciality dewatering services provider National Pump & Energy (NPE).

The Swedish company is investing an undisclosed amount to buy NPE, a provider of dewatering, environmental services and water treatment solutions in Australia and New Zealand.

NPE is also specialised in dewatering solutions for mining connected to metals needed in electrification.

Atlas Copco said NPE will become part of its specialty rental division within the power technique business.

Andrew Walker, SVP and business area president of power technique at Atlas Copco, said: “The acquisition will strengthen our presence in dewatering and water treatment, which is an area where needs are increasing due to climate change and more frequent flooding events. This is driving the need for fast response and specialty dewatering solutions.”
