The real estate secondaries arm of Ares Management has increased its investment in National Real Estate Advisors and Sabey Corporation’s US data centre venture.

The investment in Sabey Data Center Properties (SDCP), which owns, develops and operates data centres across the US, builds on Ares’ minority equity investment in the joint venture, announced in July 2026, bringing its total investment to more than $500m (€445m).

SDCP’s hyperscale and enterprise data centre campuses are located in top-tier US data centre markets totaling 275MW, with an expansion pipeline expected to reach approximately 737MW by 2033.

Kevin Verdi, executive pice president and CIO at National Real Estate Advisors, said: “This follow-on investment reflects continued conviction in SDCP’s long-term value proposition and growth trajectory.

“We remain focused on disciplined growth and delivering the digital infrastructure needed to support the next generation of cloud and AI demand.”

Tim Mirick, president of SDCP, said: “We are pleased to deepen our relationship with Ares as we continue executing on our long-term growth strategy. This additional commitment reflects confidence in the strength of our platform and our ability to develop and operate the mission-critical infrastructure our customers rely on.”

Jamie Sunday, co-head of real estate secondaries at Ares, said: “We are pleased to expand our investment in SDCP and build on our relationship with the Sabey and National teams as we continue to see significant runway for growth. The additional investment further aligns three long-term partners committed to supporting SDCP’s continued growth and expanding the platform’s ability to serve customers across an increasingly data-driven economy.”
