Altus Property has secured a final agreement with The Trump Organization to develop a A$1.5bn (€890m) six-star resort project set to become Australia’s tallest building.
Altus Property is to develop the 91-storey Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast tower in southeast Queensland, a project it said is entirely funded by private investors from Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE and the US.
The deal was struck last week at Mar-a-Lago, where Altus Property Group founder and chief executive, David Young, met with Eric Trump, executive vice president at Trump Organization.
“At approximately 335 metres, the resort is set to become the tallest building in Australia and one of the most prominent beachfront addresses in the country, offering unparalleled views, world-class amenities, and a new standard of luxury living,” the parties said.
Eric Trump said the Gold Coast tower was the company’s first official project in Australia and reflected its commitment to “delivering world class luxury experience in iconic locations around the world”.
Writing on the firm’s website, Young said that the project is an Australian venture led by Altus Resorts. He said the Trump brand was selected over other luxury operators to signal a “highest possible quality” build, with Altus retaining control over all fit-out decisions within the brand’s established design framework.
