Alpha Real Capital, a specialist manager of secure income real assets, has bought 17 solar farms across the UK.

Alpha said it has acquired Innova Energy, an £86m (€100m) multi-asset operating portfolio.

The acquisition of the 61.5MW portfolio takes Alpha’s annual low carbon generation to 540GWh, the manager said.

Will Morgan, the head of renewables at Alpha Real Capital said the acquisition takes Alpha’s solar assets to 215MW and 45 sites.

“Following a strong market recovery, we anticipate remaining active in the market as we continue to source opportunities that will deliver the UK’s energy transition.”

Phillip Rose, Alpha Alpha Real Capital CEO, said the latest investment takes the firm’s renewables investment programme to over £800m diversified across wind, solar and hydro.

“With over £2bbn now invested in renewables infrastructure and social infrastructure, Alpha’s funds continue to focus on responsible investing in sectors that make a positive contribution to the environment and society.”
