REAL ESTATE - Three former directors of the merged property companies of Interpolis and Achmea will head up the new Netherlands-based organisation.

The new real estate company, which is yet to be named, has appointed former Interpolis Vastgoed executive chairman Erik Erenst, 60, as the new chair.

Dick van Hal, 48, who was executive chairman at Achmea Vastgoed, will become vice chairman. The executive team will be completed by George Droge, 52, the former vice chair at Interpolis Vastgoed.

According to a spokesman, the appointments are subject to approval by the employees council of the new company.

The set-up of the new real estate investment company is in its final phase, with its business plan will be presented within a couple of months, he indicated.

Interpolis Vastgoed and Achmea Vastgoed decided to merge in November 2005. With combined assets under management of €12bn, the new real estate company is the second largest player on the Dutch market.
