AEW Europe - Property investment manager AEW Europe, with more than €30bn in assets under management, has hired Bloomsbury Capital's Sam Martin as research director. Martin, who previously headed the research desk for Russia and the CIS at DTZ, will report to head of research and strategy Mahdi Mokrane.
Ernst & Young - Consultancy Ernst & Young has boosted its Construction and Real Estate Advisory Services (CREAS) practice with the appointment of Josh Herrenkohl as head of its US real estate investor services team. Herrenkohl's new team works with REITs and private equity funds, as well as pension and sovereign wealth funds. The firm has also appointed New York-based Maureen Welsh to run its US corporate real estate practice.
Helical Bar - Property firm helical bar Helical Bar has appointed two new directors. Duncan Walker, who oversees a combined shopping centre and industrial portfolio, becomes an executive director. Michael O'Donnell, a private equity specialist, joins as a non-executive director. O'Donnell will also sit on the company's remuneration committee.
