GLOBAL - BNP Paribas Real Estate, Aareal Bank, Internos Real Investors, Legal & General Property, SEB Asset Management, Cordea Savills, HDG Mansur Investment Services, Speymill Deutsche Immobilien Company

BNP Paribas Real Estate - David Aubin has been made chief executive of the real estate investment management international business line. He will report directly to group chief executive Francis Benfeghoul and become a member of the executive committee of BNP Paribas Real Estate. Aubin has been tasked with growing assets under management through an equity acquisition programme. He worked previously as chief executive of Financial Institutions Group Europe, part of the BNP Paribas Group.

Aareal Bank - Dirk Große Wördemann has joined the German bank as a new member of the management board responsible for international markets in Aareal Bank's structured property financing segment. He will take over the responsibilities of Norbert Kickum, who left the bank last month. Most recently, Große Wördemann founded Pacific Star Europe with former E.ON Energie pension fund real estate head Matthias Stürmer, a global fund of funds joint venture with Pacific Star Group. Prior to this, he was chief executive at Allianz Real Estate.

Internos Real Investors - The real estate fund management firm has appointed Jochen Schäfer-Surén as partner and head of its hotel and leisure division with effect from 1 January 2011. He will join Internos' executive and investment committees. Schäfer-Surén was most recently head of hotel and leisure fund management at Invesco Real Estate, where he was responsible for founding the hotel and leisure fund management business. During 10 years at Invesco Real Estate, he designed the strategy and raised €350m of equity for Invesco's first European hotel real estate fund.

Legal & General Property - Tom Carlton has been appointed research analyst specialising in retail. Meanwhile, Henry MacInnes has been made senior asset manager of LGP's Linked Pensions Fund, supporting fund manager Will Edwards.

SEB Asset Management - Christian Hanke joins the sales team in Frankfurt as head of institutional sales real estate. Hanke joins from Aberdeen Asset Management Deutschland, where he was most recently co-responsible for institutional clients in the pension, corporates and consultants areas as senior business development manager. This new appointment is part of SEB Asset Management's growth strategy in the institutional real estate business.

Cordea Savills - Christian Haertl has been promoted to portfolio manager of Cordea Savills' German Retail Fund. Christian has been a senior asset manager for the firm in Munich since October 2007. He has had responsibility for German retail properties held within three funds.

HDG Mansur Investment Services - Michael Baker joins as senior managing director and head of development in the UK and Europe. He will responsible for overseeing the company's existing and new developments, including the £255m (€300m) Finzels Reach mixed-use scheme in Bristol. As a member of senior management, he will also assist the company in identifying new projects and joint ventures in the UK and throughout Europe. With over 25 years' experience, Baker was most recently the director of Grosvenor's GBI business, with responsibility for the commercial and residential development business.

Speymill Deutsche Immobilien Company - The pan-German residential property investment firm has hired Jim Mellon as a director and substantial shareholder of the AIM-listed company. Mellon has been appointed to the role of chairman of the board of directors with immediate effect. The company has received a number of proposals in relation to refinancing the company, and the board believes the appointment of Mellon to the role of chairman should expedite the process.
