EUROPE - Charles Maudsley, currently co-head of Europe for LaSalle Investment Management alongside Simon Marrison, is leaving to work for British Land and will not be replaced.

Maudsley will take on the position of director of business expansion and become a main board member of the listed property company, while Marrison will expand his role to take on sole leadership of LaSalle's business in Europe.

"Charlie is a good friend and trusted partner in our business who we will greatly miss," said Jeff Jacobson, global chief executive at LaSalle.

"British Land is a great company, and his new role will allow him to concentrate his efforts and talents exclusively on investing in the UK market in contrast to some of the broader fundraising, investor relations, and general management responsibilities that were part of his current role.

"We wish Charlie success in his new role, and look forward to working with him in the future as opportunities arise."

Marrison said: "I have enjoyed working with Charlie in leading our European business over the past five years, and will miss his enthusiasm, humour and sound judgment. Looking forward, I am very excited about having the opportunity to lead the entire European business and am confident that we will continue to grow our position as one of the leading real estate investment managers in Europe.

Final details of transition and timing of the move are still being determined, but LaSalle said it and British Land were committed to an orderly transition "that best serves the interests of LaSalle's clients and employees".
