Vastned, Allianz Real Estate, CBRE Global Multi Manager, British Property Federation, Stratus Infrastructure, Bailard

Vastned – The Dutch listed company has nominated Reiner Walta as chief financial officer. Walta, a senior transaction manager with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, will take up the post in November, Vastned said. Walta, who has also previously worked for PwC and ING Real Estate, will succeed Tom de Witte, who is leaving Vastned, which has a market cap of €700m.

Allianz Real Estate – Christoph Donner will join the firm as chief executive officer in the US, leaving Aareal Capital Corporation in New York. Donner has also worked as managing director at Hypo Real Estate as well as Deutsche Bank.

CBRE Global Multi Manager – Charles Baigler has been appointed to lead transactions in Europe from next month. Baigler will be based in London and have a particular focus on co-investments and joint ventures. Baigler joins from Rockspring and has also worked for Catalyst Capital.

British Property Federation – Graham Roberts, CEO of Assura Group, will chair the BPF’s new Healthcare Committee. The launch of the committee is part of a new campaign to highlight the role that institutional investment in healthcare infrastructure will play in helping the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) cope with an ageing population.

Stratus Infrastructure – Bob Shekleton and Nigel Brindley have launched a new advisory company that will focus on infrastructure investments in emerging markets. Shekleton has worked in infrastructure for 25 years, having led PPP bid activity for Jarvis and Mowlem. Brindley has 20 years’ experience and has worked at Barclays Private Equity, Barclays Infrastructure Funds and Mowlem. 

Bailard – Preston Sargent has been appointed president and chief executive of the firm’s private equity real estate vehicle. Sargent, who will head the Bailard real estate team, will join Henry Newhall, the vehicle’s chief operating officer. Sargent was previously executive vice president and principal at Kennedy Associates (now Bentall Kennedy) and has also worked at GE Investments, Aetna Realty Investors, William Blair Realty and LaSalle Partners.
