The Italian pension fund for journalists (INGPI) is to invest in non-domestic real estate for the first time.

Investire Immobiliare SGR and Polaris Real Estate SGR, which jointly advise the pension fund, have appointed Henderson Global Investors to find investment opportunities outside Italy for INGPI’s existing domestic-only €1.2bn Giovanni Amendola fund.

Henderson said Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK were likely destinations for the fund.

Investire and Polaris will manage all the investments, with Henderson responsible for identifying and acquiring properties.

Henderson will also manage the portfolio.
