GLOBAL – Union Investment Real Estate, AREF, JP Morgan Asset Management, Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM), CBRE Global Investors, Round Hill Capital, ABN AMRO, Pramerica Real Estate Investors, Macquarie Funds Group, Dentons Global Real Estate, NCC Property Development, Adama, Westmount Real Estate, Bentall Kennedy
Union Investment Real Estate – Martin Bruehl will become the German real estate manager’s principal representative for the Americas, as the firm confirms the US as its target market outside Europe. The manager said it intends to invest $2bn (€1.5bn) in the US market over the next five years, with Bruehl at the helm.
Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF) – David Wise has been appointed chairman of the representative body. Wise is currently director of property investment at Kames Capital, where he was been since 2007. Wise brings more than 25 years of property investment to his chairmanship. In addition to being a chartered surveyor, a director of AREF and a member of its management committee, he is also chairman of its corporate governance committee.
JP Morgan Asset Management – Doug Doughty has joined the asset manager as global head of business development and client strategy in its global real assets arm. Doughty will be responsible for raising capital and managing client relationships. He joins from the CIM Group, where he was managing director.
Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) – Hugo Vere has been appointed director of the real estate investment business. He has held a number of roles including establishing and leading Invista Real Estate’s Asian fund management business based in Hong Kong. During the last year, he has been a consultant to Guidance Investments. He is also an associate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
CBRE Global Investors – Alain de La Bellière has joined the investment management company as head of transactions in France. De La Bellière joins from Generali Real Estate, where he was an investment manager. He will be responsible for sourcing deals for CBRE’s pan-European and domestic funds for institutional clients.
Round Hill Capital – John Baker has been appointed CFO. Baker joins the real estate manager from DTZ Global Investment and Asset Management, where he was also CFO. Round Hill has also appointed Lars Jeppsson as senior asset management associate and Ryan Pierce as asset management associate. Jeppsson brings a variety of experience having spent time at UBS, EMI and Citigroup, while Pierce spent six years in PwC’s real estate advisory team.
ABN AMRO – Jonathan Greenwood has joined the Dutch bank as global head of financial institutions and real estate. Greenwood was previously at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), where he was global head of insurance and head of financial institutions for the Netherlands.
Pramerica Real Estate Investors – Andrew Macland has been appointed to the newly created position of head of the UK as it restructures its European platform. Prior to his new role, Macland was managing director of European Real Estate Finance Group. He will continue his management of the PRECap fund series in his new role.
Macquarie Funds Group – Tom van Rijsewijk and Tim Humphrey have joined the investment company in its infrastructure debt investment solutions team in Europe. Along with the appointments, Andrew Robertson and Fiona Griffin have been relocated to the team as its portfolio grows and it looks to broaden its investor base in Europe.
Dentons Global Real Estate – Alexandre Poupard has joined the firm as a partner in its Paris practice. Poupard joins from law firm Allen & Overy and specialises in real estate projects and joint ventures for mergers and acquisitions.
NCC Property Development – Manne Aronsson will join the Swedish developer as manager for property development in Norway. He will assume the role leaving a similar position in Sweden. He’s been with the firm for more than 13 years and will focus around strengthening NCC’s market presence.
Adama – Laszlo Csiki has replaced Andreas Holler as chief executive of the Romanian real estate developer.
Westmount Real Estate – Giles King has continued the exodus from CBRE Global Investors, joining two other former directors at Westmount. King will join as a director for the newly established firm, which will focus on real estate investment and asset management in the UK. King spent 17 years at CBRE before joining the start-up.
Bentall Kennedy – Stephen Coyle has joined the investment manager to become senior adviser in portfolio management. He will be focusing on opportunistic investing as well as assisting the research department with strategic thinking. He joined the firm from Cohen & Steers, where he was CIO.
