Two Korean insurers have chosen TH Real Estate to manage their real estate debt investments in the UK.
It is the first separate account covering UK debt investment for Dongbu Insurance Company and Dongbu Life Insurance Company.
The mandate comes a year after TH Real Estate successfully launched its first-ever real estate debt fund. The real estate manager has also been investing in debt on behalf of its parent, US financial services group TIAA.
The strategy is being led by Christian Janssen, head of debt at TH Real Estate, who joined the company in 2014.
Janssen said: “The UK remains an attractive investment destination for commercial real estate debt, with a positive and stable commercial real estate risk-return profile, supported by a liquid and transparent marketplace, and a creditor-friendly and well understood legal framework.”
