Biogen, a portfolio company of Ancala Partners, has acquired Tamar Energy for an undisclosed sum.
Ancala, the mid-market infrastructure investment manager, said a number of Tamar’s existing shareholders have rolled-over their investment into the combined group.
The acquisition, which creates one of the largest independent anaerobic digestion (AD) platforms in the UK, will see the combined group operating a network of thirteen AD plants and six composting sites located across England, Scotland and Wales.
Spence Clunie, a managing partner, at Ancala, said: “Acquiring Tamar Energy represents an opportunity for us to grow our platform and create one of the largest AD operators in the UK. The combination enables us to improve our service to all stakeholders, including customers and local communities.”
