IPE – Mercer investment consultant Dennis van Ek, Adina Grigoriu of Active Asset Allocation and infrastructure specialist Georg Inderst are to speak at next month's IPE360 on 10 -11 October at the Hotels van Oranje in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
Inderst, who will discuss what lessons institutional investors can learn from how Canadian and Australian funds have tackled infrastructure, joins keynote speaker Alfred Slager.
Van Ek, who joined Mercer in 2001, will examine whether there is a case for investment in gold, while Grigoriu will explore what role real assets can play inside a pension fund's portfolio.
Grigoriu has worked as a derivatives trader, also spending time as fund manager and head of asset liability management at BNP Paribas Asset Management before joining a spin-off of the EDHEC Risk Institute in 2007 to oversee its research on institutional investors' core satellite portfolios.
More recently, she founded Active Asset Allocation and acts as its chief executive.
Van Ek, meanwhile, oversees Mercer's capital market assumptions on the euro-zone, which form the basis of its ALM studies and is also the firm's global spokesman for gold.
Inderst has previously worked as head of global asset allocation and fixed income at F&C Investment Management and has worked at both Foreign & Colonial and Hypo-Bank.
He holds degrees from the University of Vienna and the London School of Economics.
