GLOBAL - Europa Capital, Union Investment, Rockspring Property Investment Managers, UNITE, TPG Capital

Europa Capital - Michael Abel has joined from JP Morgan Asset Management and will focus on new acquisitions in central Europe. At JP Morgan, Abel worked for the London-based European Property fund, which has €3.5bn assets under management.

Union Investment - The German open-ended fund manager has established a property management unit in France by acquiring Euragone Asset Management and appointed Dominique Dudan as managing director. Dudan previously held management posts at Accor Hotels & Resorts, HSBC Real Estate and BNP Paribas Immobilier. She was most recently chief executive of asset management company Arcole in Paris.

Rockspring Property Investment Managers - George Magnus, Robert Orr and Álvaro Portela have joined the investment advisory committee of Rockspring’s €1bn open-ended Pan-European Property Limited Partnership fund. Magnus is senior economic adviser and former chief economist at UBS Investment Bank, while Orr is a senior adviser at Hawkpoint and former European chief executive at Jones Lang LaSalle. Portela is former chief executive of Sonae Sierra SGPS.

UNITE - The student accommodation developer and fund manager has appointed Sir Tim Wilson as an additional non-executive director. Wilson was appointed a Knight Bachelor for services to higher education and to business in the 2011 New Year’s Honours List. He was appointed vice-chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire in September 2003, following an academic career with Leeds Metropolitan, Cranfield and De Montfort universities. In addition to serving on the board of the Higher Education Funding Council for England, he has been a board member of East of England Development Agency for six years and deputy chair of the CBI Innovation, Science and Technology Committee.

TPG Capital - Avi Banyasz is joining the private equity manager at the end of January from Westbrook Partners and will focus on real estate investments.
