IPE - Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) was the big winner at this year’s IP Real Estate Awards in London, taking home no fewer than four prizes - including Best Real Estate Investor.

The Canadian pension fund also scooped the awards for Best Large Real Estate Investor, Best Innovation and Best Institutional Investor in Other Regions.

The other top award went to the National Pension Service (NPS) of Korea, which was awarded the accolade of Outstanding Industry Contribution for its expansive global acquisition strategy.

It is the first year that IP Real Estate has widened the remit of the awards beyond Europe-based investors, and both winners reflect a more global coverage.

Other big winners on the night included Denmark’s Tapiola Pension, which won Best Institutional Investor in the Nordic Countries, Best Opportunistic Investment and Best Use of Debt Instruments.

The latter was awarded jointly to Tapiola and Austria’s APK, which also won Best Small Real Estate Investor.

The Crown Estate was voted Best Institutional Investor in UK and Ireland and won the award for Best Value-added Investment.

Clwyd Pension Fund was awarded the accolades for Best Medium Real Estate Investor and Best Portfolio Construction.
