Capital Dynamics has secured $463m (€378m) from global investors for a fund investing in renewable energy.

The Capital Dynamics Clean Energy and Infrastructure limited partnership will invest in technologies such as biomass, landfill gas, and hydro, solar, wind and gas-fired power.

Investors from North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East have backed the fund, meaning that Capital Dynamics has raised close to $1bn for ‘clean energy’ strategies since 2010.

The new fund has already made nine portfolio investments in the US and UK, six of which are now in operation and supplying electricity to the grid. Another project is expected to be fully operational in the first three months of 2015.

Stefan Ammann, CEO of Capital Dynamics, said the successful launch of the fund was “a clear indication of the demand for capital within the clear energy infrastructure field”.
