GLOBAL – Aeriance Investments, IPD, Gatehouse Bank, RBS, First State Investments

Aeriance Investments – The commercial real estate lending platform of Aerium has hired Harin Thaker as chief executive as part of plans to raise €1bn in capital for two real estate debt funds. Thaker has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry and was previously head of international real estate finance at PBB Deutsche Pfandbriefbank. Between 2005 and 2011, he was chief executive for EMEA at Hypo Real Estate International Bank.

IPDAlasdair Evans, executive director of finance, will leave IPD before the end of the year. Evans, formerly COO at Hermes Real Estate, was hired in 2010 to help with IPD's global expansion. In an email, Evans said: "It is nearly one year since the acquisition of IPD by MSCI, and IPD is now integrated into the MSCI platform – and so it is time for me to move on." He added: "IPD is well placed to serve real estate markets throughout the world".

Gatehouse BankNatale Giostra has left CBRE, where he was head of debt advisory for the UK and EMEA to join the Shariah-compliant investment bank. Based in the City of London, Giostra is head of real estate finance and will oversee European property financing.

RBSJessica Way has joined RBS from Aviva Investors to advise on restructuring and asset management of real estate and property loans held within RBS's Global Restructuring Group (GRG). Way will be senior asset manager at RBS GRG Real Estate Asset Management. Based in Belfast, she will be responsible for managing assets held by Ulster Bank in Northern Ireland.

First State Investments – European direct infrastructure team at First State Investments has been joined by Volker Häussermann, Batiste Ogier and Mats Hope. Häussermann, director, joins from Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management. Ogier, senior executive, joins from KPMG Corporate Finance, while Hope, executive, joins from UBS Investment Bank.
