AFIRESteve Hason, managing director and co-head of Americas real estate at APG, has taken over as chairman of the US foreign real estate association AFIRE. He succeeds Christoph Karl, principal at Jamestown. Thomas Arnold, head of Americas real estate at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, has assumed the role of deputy chairman, previously held by Hason.

Allianz Real EstateRoland Fuchs, most recently managing director at Helaba France, has been named head of European real estate finance, effective from the beginning of October. With more than two decades' experience in the real estate finance area, Fuchs has worked at DSL Bank and Westimmo, while in his previous role he expanded Helaba's presence as a provider of property financing. Based in Paris, he will join the firm's executive committee.

Atrium European Real EstateLiad Barzilai, currently the firm's head of acquisitions, joins the group executive management team. Barzilai has been head of acquisitions for two years, joining the company in 2008 as vice-president of business development.

AMP CapitalJudy Saunders – formerly the CIO at the £8.9bn (€10.6bn) West Midlands Pension Fund – has joined the infrastructure manager as an adviser to its UK business. Saunders, who left the LGPS amid a restructuring of its leadership structure last year, previously joined hedge fund investor Man Group as a senior consultant.

Aviva InvestorsAndrew Davey has been appointed assistant fund manager on the Lime Property fund, replacing Geoffrey Shaw after his move to BlackRock. Davey joined Aviva Investors six years ago and since then has worked in the real estate multi-manager team, where he was most recently assistant fund manager on the returns enhancing and liability matching (REaLM) Commercial and Social Housing funds.

British Property FederationAnne Kavanagh, current global head of asset management and transactions at Axa Real Estate Investment Managers, has been named a board member at the federation. Kavanagh was appointed alongside Aubrey Adams, head of property at the Royal Bank of Scotland's global restructuring group, succeeding David Hunter and Andrew Strang.

Carlyle GroupAdam Metz will from next month be the firm's head of international real estate, a newly created position. Metz joins from TPG Group's real estate division, where he was a senior adviser. He has worked for several real estate investment trusts, including General Growth Properties and Polaris Capital.

Hahn-ImmobilienBärbel Schomberg joined the company's supervisory board at the end of August. In addition to running her own consultancy, Schomberg & Co, she has held senior roles within the real estate fund businesses of Commerzbank, Dresdner Bank and SEB Bank, and been a member of the real estate committee at German asset management association BVI.

Mayfair Capital Investment ManagementFrances Ketteringham has been appointed director of research and investment strategy. Previously associate director at Jones Lang LaSalle, she spent six years in the EMEA research team and has also worked at EGi.

NCC Property DevelopmentDavid Lekås has been named as senior vice-president of sales, joining from Hultafors Group. Lekås previously worked for the Swedish Trade Council in China and the Stockholm offices of Accenture.

Patrizia ImmobilienJan-Hendrik Jessen joined the company as senior fund manager at the beginning of the month, in charge of the LB Pflege-Invest Deutschland and LB Hotel-Invest Deutschland funds. He previously worked at asset manager Corpus Sireo.

Peakside CapitalOtis Spencer, formerly of ABP Investments, joins both Peakside Group as managing director and Central and Eastern European real estate fund management business Peakside Polonia Management as president. Spencer was most recently co-head of KSP Real Estate Investment Management.
