European Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate - INREV has split the previous role of director of public affairs and professional standards into two positions. Lonneke Löwik, previously director of research and market information, will become director of professional standards. Jeff Rupp will now be dedicated entirely to engaging with Brussels-based European policymakers and regulators, continuing in his role as director of public affairs. Casper Hesp, formerly senior research manager, will replace Löwik. Vitaliy Tonenchuk has joined the research team from Dutch investment finance house SNS Property Finance, where he was a senior real estate analyst.
Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF) - The representative body for UK unlisted commercial real estate funds has appointed Paul Dennis-Jones as chairman. Dennis-Jones leads Pramerica Real Estate Investors' UK fund management business. Before joining Pramerica, he was a managing director of the UBS Global Asset Management UK real estate business. He has also served as a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers' Capital Projects and Property Group.
Cushman & Wakefield - Peter Leyburn has been appointed as a partner and head of the office agency team in Italy. He joins C&W after nine years at DTZ, where he was a senior director and head of the CEMEA office agency team. Before then, spent 14 years with Richard Ellis, where he started his career. James Meikle, who previously headed the office agency team in Milan, recently relocated to the London office to work within the Corporate Occupier and Investor services division.
Clarion Partners - Khalif Edwards has been named a director, with senior responsibility for client relationships in the US and an initial focus on the West Coast. He joins from TIAA-CREF Asset Management, where he was senior director of business development. Before then, he held senior real estate positions at Eastdil Secured and Merrill Lynch.
Hermes Real Estate Investment Management - Stephen Ellis has been appointed as an asset manager, overseeing a portfolio of industrial and regional office properties. He joins from Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was a director, responsible for advising clients on industrial, regional office and nationwide portfolios. Before then, he was a fund manager at Royal & SunAlliance.
JK Wohnbau - Michael Haupt has been appointed chief executive of the residential construction company based in Munich, replacing Josef Kastenberger. Haupt, who will assume his position in February, joins after five years at Bouwfonds Real Estate Investment Management, where he was managing director and country head.
Europa Capital - Gagan Grewal was appointed as head of business development in mid-December. She joins from MGPA, where she was involved in strategic planning, management, structuring and bringing to market of all new real estate products. Before then, she worked at AREA and Henderson Global Investors.
