GLOBAL - Florida State Board of Administration, SWIP, Baird Investment Banking, Real Capital Analytics
Florida State Board of Administration - Doug Bennett, senior investment officer for real estate at the Florida State Board of Administration, retired on 30 June after 28 years with the Florida pension fund. The SBA spent the summer finalising candidates for the position and is in the final stages of selecting his replacement.
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) - The firm has appointed five new investment managers, following the recent increase in SWIP's real estate assets under management to £8.5bn (€9.7bn). Oliver Lord, investment manager, joins from F&C REIT Asset Management where he was assistant fund manager. Elaine Hughes joins from CB Richard Ellis, where she was director of the professional services team in Edinburgh. Nicola Campbell, Tom Elviss and Veronica Gallo-Alvarez have also been appointed investment managers, joining from Hunter Property Fund Management, DTZ and Invista Real Estate Investment Management, respectively.
Baird Investment Banking - James O'Brien and Jeffrey Rogatz join the firm as managing directors in the real estate investment banking team. O'Brien, most recently a managing director in the real estate investment banking group with FBR & Co, will focus on financial sponsor groups investing in real estate and driving traditional M&A business for the group. Rogatz, who joins from Ridgeway Capital, where he was president, will focus on equity and M&A in the office and industrial space. Both will work in Baird's McLean, Virginia office.
Real Capital Analytics - George Armitage has joined Real Capital Analytics as business development director. Based in London, he will be in charge of expanding the firm's service to investors, banks and advisory firms across EMEA, alongside Richard Yorke. Armitage was previously manager at CoStar UK, where he was responsible for new business generation and client services.
