GSW Immobilien – Jochen Scharpe, deputy chairman of the supervisory board of German property rental firm GSW Immobilien, is to resign on 31 December. Scharpe has been on the supervisory board since March 2010. He is also chairman of the audit committee, a member of the executive committee of the supervisory board and a member of the nomination committee. Recently, Eckart John von Freyend, supervisory chairman, and chief executive Bernd Kottmann also resigned, following a shareholders revolt. The company said Scharpe's resignation was for personal reasons.
Mercer – Catherine Schoendorff has been named head of pension administration at the consultancy's Swiss division after a reorganisation that saw the outsourcing business renamed. Schoendorff, who joined Mercer in 2011 from Aon Hewitt, previously co-authored a report on administration costs in the Swiss second pillar for the country's Social Ministry (BSV). The consultancy would not confirm whether Schoendorff's promotion had seen her replace anyone.
AXA Real Estate – Nathalie Charles will take up the position of regional head of asset management and transactions in Southern Europe. She will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of managing AXA Real Estate's assets. She will leave her current position as managing director of corporate real estate at EDF Group, where she led asset, property and facility activities across EDF with a portfolio of 4.5m square metres.
Rockspring – Two appointments have been made as Gareth Fernandes and Gloria Chan join Rockspring to strengthen the investor relations team. Fernandes has been appointed as manager and will be responsible for raising support for investors in the EMEA and other regions. He previously worked for Cushman & Wakefield Investors. Chan has been appointed client services manager, responsible for managing the client service programme internationally. She previously worked for MGPA, where she provided client services on three closed-end funds.
CBRE Group – Nick Axford has been named global head of research. The newly created role will see Axford in charge of all research activities, devising strategic targets in line with the company's growth objectives. He will share responsibility for oversight with newly appointed global chairman research Raymond Torto, in charge of analysis and client relations. Axford spent 12 years as head of CBRE's EMEA research, moving to assume the same position for Asia Pacific in 2010.
Pramerica Real Estate Investors – Jocelyn de Verdelon has been appointed head of France, based in Paris. In his new role, he will sit on Pramerica's European executive committee. Currently, he works at Altarea-Cogedim Group in Paris, where he was in the role of office investments director, responsible for sourcing and execution of all acquisitions.
Schroder Property – Thomas Guyot has been named head of the company's French asset management team, a role that will also see him supervise any domestic part of Schroder's European property funds. Guyot previously worked at ICADE as head of commercial property and has also acted as chief executive of French REIT Compagnie la Lucette.
Henderson Global Investors – Roman Löbsch has joined the Austrian property team as senior portfolio manager, responsible for further acquisitions by the Warburg Henderson Österreich Fonds Nummer 2. Löbsch, who will report to head of property investment in Austria, Clemens Rumpler, joins from Conwert Immobilien Invest SE and has previously worked at HIH Global.
Invesco Real Estate – Robert Stolfo has joined the Munich office's management team, responsible for client relations across the German-speaking countries, as well as product and business development. Stolfo joined Invesco in 2001 and has worked as a fund manager on its pan-European and Central European funds.
Benson Elliot Advisory Board – Lord Levene of Portsoken has been appointed to Benson Elliot's Board of Strategic Advisors. Lord Levene will provide insight on public policy thinking and its impacts on private equity real estate, as well as sector-based inputs. He is currently chairman of Starr Underwriting Agents, General Dynamics UK and the UK Ministry of Defence Reform Group.
Atrium European Real Estate – A new CFO has been appointed to succeed David Doyle, who is leaving to pursue other business interests. Sona Hybnerova will take on her new position on 1 September. Hybnerova has been with the group for eight years, and was most recently in the position as director of finance for strategic projects.
Kleinwort Benson – Marc Thatcher has been appointed as director of principal investments and advisory business. He started on 4 July, and will advise clients on business development. He has been in debt advisory for 20 years at Macquarie, where he was the managing director from 2008 to 2013.
Green REIT – The Irish property investment company has appointed Caroline McCarthy as CIO. She will join the company on 2 September. She joins from CBRE, where she served as an executive director.
