AEW Europe has acquired a €200m French real estate portfolio, increasing the size of its European logistics platform to €2bn.

The porfolio of eight French logistics assets – known as Corridor – was sold by GLL Real Estate Partners.

AEW Europe said the multi-tenant buildings, covering 280,000sqm in total, are situated in “prime logistics locations” in Lille, Le Havre, Paris and Lyon.

AEW Europe established Logistis, its European logistics platform, in 2012 after merging three funds.

Dutch pension investors APG and PGGM, and a fund of funds managed by TH Real Estate are among investors in the platform.

Last year, the fund manager invested €1bn in 16 assets. AEW Europe said it planned to continue making investments this year.

Rémy Vertupier, Logistis fund manager, said: “Following the acquisition of Corridor, we have now allocated 80% of Logistis’ investment capacity and have reached a 99% occupancy rate in the existing investment portfolio.”
