The Lagos-headquartered company, which has more than 41 offices and a team of 400 including 60 chartered surveyors, says London will be its first international office.

It will be headed up by Olawunmi Olashore, head of international markets at Jide Taiwo, whose father founded the company.

Her initial focus will be upon connecting new and existing real estate clients, with opportunities in the UK and back in Nigeria.

Jide Taiwo is to offers all services including agency, valuation, property management, facility management, project management, property development and public sector work.

The company was started in 1980. In Nigeria it competes with the likes of CBRE and Knight Frank.

One of its most prestigious advisory roles currently is Lekki Deep Sea Port, where Singapore-based developer Tolaram Group and China Harbour Engineering Company are nearing completion of a site of over 800 hectares at the centre of the Lagos Free Trade Zone, around 60km from Lagos. It is the first deep water port to be built in Nigeria.

An equally important mandate is Alaro City where Rendeavour is developing over 1,000 hectares, also in the Lagos Free Trade Zone. Many more industries have moved to the area with residential projects underway. Proposed plans for multiple transport networks and a new international airport are also afoot.
