Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance – Nicole Maarsen has been appointed director of property investments. She will be responsible for housing, retail, offices, international property and development operations. Maarsen has been tasked with management, acquisition, property sales as well as product development. On the executive board, Maarsen will join Cindy Rombouts, director of finance & risk, and George Dröge, who acts as interim director since the departure of Henk Jagersma. Until recently, Maarsen was an independent adviser.

Hammerson – Maxime Depreux has been given the newly created role of chief operating officer for premium retail outlets. Depreux began working at Hammerson France as an asset manager in 2009 before joining the outlets team as an investment director in 2014 following the creation of VIA Outlets. 

LaSalle Investment Management – Chris Lawrence has joined as portfolio manager for the Canadian Income & Growth funds. Lawrence will be based in Toronto. He spent 12 years with Bentall Kennedy in Canada.

Union Investment Real Estate – The German fund manager has reinforeced its North American operations, hiring Kseniya Merritt to look after retail investments in the US. She will also investigate the possibility of investing in Canada. She joins ffrom Brixmor Property Group, a listed real estate investment trust.

Irwin Mitchell – Adrian Barlow has been recruited from Pinsent Masons as national head of real estate in London. Barlow joined Pinsent Masons in 2004.

Quadrant Estates – Tom Hatfield has joined as associate partner in the retail team. Hatfield will focus on asset management and joins from Savills where he has worked since 2013 in Manchester.
