Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors received €364m worth new commitments for its Dutch residential, office and retail funds, during the second half of last year, the manager has announced.

The €11.3bn Dutch property investor said it attracted the amount from existing and new institutional investor clients.

The manager’s office fund received a total of €223m. Dutch insurer Achmea Schadeverzekeringen was the latest new investor in the office fund. The total invested capital of the office fund now stands at €800m.

The residential fund raised €115m and the total invested capital of the fund now stands at €5.7bn.

Bouwinvest said an existing client raised its investment in the retail fund by €26m. The total invested capital in the Dutch retail fund was €1.0bn as at the end of 2018.

Karen Huizer, a director in charge of client management at Bouwinvest, said the growth in capital commitments show that more and more investors are “coming to appreciate the positive attributes” of core real estate, including its low risk, long-term stable returns and function as an inflation hedge.

“These encouraging results take Bouwinvest closer to achieving its goal of reaching a total of €15bn in invested capital by 2021,” Huizer said.
