Singapore’s US$100bn (€88.6bn) sovereign wealth fund GIC has teamed up with Polymer Connected to develop a data centre campus in Indonesia’s capital.

As part of the partnership data centre provider Polymer has acquired the land to build the 2.6MW Tier III and 26MW Tier IV data centre facilities in Jakarta Barat. The deal is the South East Asia data centre provider’s first campus in Indonesia.

Financial details were undisclosed.

Darren Hawkins, CEO, Polymer Connected said with a population of 575m, 350m internet users and 390m active mobile users, Southeast Asia’s digital economy is forecasted to triple to US$240bn by 2025.
